Actor Refutes Anti-Vaccine Views After Lending His Voice To Controversial Covid Feature

The "Taken" star has lent his vocal talents to a recent film that challenges the legitimacy of immunizations and commends former cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Contentious Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a bestselling book co-authored by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the health crisis for claims that the virus was linked to a bad strain of the flu vaccine.

The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has penned books with far-right figure Alex Jones. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's role in the project.

A Firm Rebuttal

The team of Liam Neeson have issued a comment strongly denying suggestions that he supports anti-vax sentiments.

"Everyone can understand that corruption might be present within the drug industry, but that must not be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the comment explains. "Neeson never has been, and is not, against vaccines. His considerable work with the global charity reinforces his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

The statement added that the performer had no hand in the documentary's narrative and that concerns about its claims ought to go to the creators.

Central Claims In the Documentary

According to the documentary, the script provided by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
  • It declares that "science has become dangerously influenced by politics."
  • Kennedy is shown claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
  • It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, saying they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
  • Concerning the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Past Controversy and Current Disputes

The film includes a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a BBC apology by the corporation for editorial breaches.

Last month, Kennedy instructed the CDC to change its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is echoed in the film, contrary to a new report from the global health body confirming no evidence has been found.

A Previous Record of Support

Contrasting the documentary's tone, Neeson has in the past voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible achievement," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This is not the end of our journey. It is the start of a fresh chapter."
