Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores

Containing the league's best running game was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard season average

Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just later

It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defense and Allen attempting to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - not the calm, controlled, balanced Bills we've seen this season

The Dolphins have served up a varied performances this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the American Football Conference East

Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three different 8-2 squads in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the top team?

You can pick holes in New England, Denver and Indianapolis really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their total twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis defeating the Broncos

The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime success in Buffalo seems like a statement

Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's first three games, with seven straight wins, just like Denver, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was significant

Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly earns point for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to victory

The defensive unit is reliable and rookie running back Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to break 22mph this year on his first score

While you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record due to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against Buffalo

Traveling to Baltimore is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to face. There's a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC

Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each put up 40 burgers to go to 7-2 before the upcoming major meeting between the pair in Los Angeles

Both have secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest

Both could realistically be undefeated as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play deflected and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely two of the top teams in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the season to date
