Orbital Pictures Show Iranian Naval Forces and Nuclear Facilities Damaged by Joint US and Israeli Strikes.

Multiple American and Israeli attacks has reportedly sunk or crippled no fewer than eleven Iran's navy ships since the weekend, recently obtained orbital imagery reveal, with launch facilities and nuclear sites also coming under fire.

Photographs of the southern Konarak naval base and the Bandar Abbas installation, which overlooks the Strait of Hormuz and is home to the headquarters of the Iranian navy, show black smoke pouring from a number of ships on Monday and Tuesday.

Naval Fleet Sustained Significant Damage

Among the vessels destroyed was the IRINS Makran, Iran's biggest warship which had served as a drone carrier. Orbital photos showed thick smoke pouring from the vessel which had been stationed at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Intelligence evaluations indicate that no fewer than a quintet of warships at Bandar Abbas were "hit or sunk". Pictures of the south end of the port reveal plumes ascending from the Makran, while additional ships are visibly damaged, with one visibly ablaze.

Over at Konarak, photos reveal numerous stricken ships, with intelligence reports pointing to damage to six vessels. Images taken on the start of the week also show that a number of structures at the base have been destroyed.

"For many years the Tehran government has harassed commercial vessels," a senior US military official said. "Now, there is no Iranian vessel operational in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz or Gulf of Oman, and we will persist."

Some ships allegedly sunk may have been obscured in satellite images by weather conditions or battle damage, or hit in open waters, and have not been independently verified. Other accounts indicated that an Iranian vessel was sinking off the coast of Sri Lanka's territorial waters, prompting a search and rescue mission.

Missile Bases and Nuclear Locations Attacked

Eliminating Tehran's launch facilities and the hindering of atomic bomb programs were declared as further objectives of the offensive. Aerial imagery also depicted impacts against the southerly Khorgu base and northwestern Tabriz facilities, and at the Konarak air base, where rocket warehouses and bunkers were targeted.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e unmanned aircraft site west of the city of Kermanshah, significant destruction was identified to storage buildings, underground facilities and drone launch equipment.

Destruction was also seen at a radar installation at the Zahedan airbase airbase in eastern Iran, near the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Perhaps most notably, the latest wave of attacks have apparently targeted sites at the Natanz complex – widely believed to be at the center of the country's atomic program. A global monitoring agency stated that the affected buildings were used for entry to the facility's below-ground enrichment facility and that "no release of radioactive material" was anticipated.

Broader Fallout and Assessment

Observers stated that the attacks appeared to have "significantly degraded" the Iran's naval capability to sustain traditional warfare using its biggest warships. Nevertheless, it was stressed that Iran still has the option to launch unconventional attacks at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, midget subs and its so-called "ghost fleet" of oil ships.

The overall scope of the damage caused to Iranian military facilities is still uncertain, with strikes reportedly persisting. Photos also indicates considerable destruction to the command center of the Iran's Revolutionary Guards in the city of Tehran.

A significant number of public facilities also appear to have been hit in the capital city and throughout Iran since the conflict started. Casualty figures from local officials suggest that a high number of non-combatants may have been lost their lives in the bombardment.

As the situation develops, monitoring of space-based data will carry on to assess the changing military landscape.
